States of Matter Sort

Year 3 (Grade 3) · Science · Activity · $0.00 USD

This free Year 3 states of matter activity has students sort ten everyday items, such as an ice cube, milk, honey and steam from a kettle, into solid, liquid and gas columns on a sorting table. Students then answer three questions about the shape of liquids, why steam is a gas and changes of state they have seen at home. A teacher answer key is included, with a note for discussing tricky items like honey.
